Clear The Clutter From Social Media DiggThis
Posted January 5, 2010 by Robert J Pillow, 2 Squares Solutions
Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter definitely have their place in website marketing and search engine optimization, but they also open the door to annoying emails and requests. Below are 2 things you can do to help stop this:

Unfriend or Unfollow

If you get more than one email a week from someone on Twitter or Facebook you can easily unfriend them in Facebook or unfollow them in Twitter this will instantly block them from emailing you.

We don't see an issue with occasional "become a fan" email on Facebook, but they annoying part is that you get these even after you have become a fan of whatever page they are promoting. To us this shows a total lack of effort on the senders part as they just select all and send the request instead of taking the 10 minutes to sort out those people that are already fans.

Report as Spam
Another easy way to make the emails stop is to report the user for spam to the social network. This is a sure fire way to not only make the emails to you stop, but make the sender change their emailing habits.
