What to ask your website designer?
Use the following information to get all the information you need before hiring you next website design firm and to ensure the best possible results for your upcoming project.
Q: Do you have any current clients?
A: If the answer is no there may be a reason for this, ask why. If the answer is yes ask to see the work and for a reference from that client.
Q: Can I see your portfolio?
A: If the answer is no, just walk away no matter what the excuse. You may hear things like my computer just crashed, I lost my laptop, or my website is currently under development. Any of these are major warning signs that you are heading down the wrong path.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Stability is hard to find in the present economy. You want to make sure that your design firm will be there tomorrow.
Q: Do you offer a written agreement, proposal or project plan?
A: If the answer is no, do not work with the firm or person. A written signed agreement offers protection and guidance for both parties.
Q: Is all work done in house?
A: Some firms Out-Source their work, not 2 Squares Solutions. All of our work is performed at our Orlando office. If the firm does outsource the work there are a number of things that can go wrong and that only creates delays and trouble for you, the client.
Q. Will I be working with you directly?
A: You want to make sure there is open line of communication regarding all phases of your website design process.

Be sure to check out the firm or designer's current website. That can give you valuable insight into how they work. If they make lot's of promises be sure that they are using those concepts for their own marketing purposes as well.

Don't get fooled by the smoke and mirrors of high tech talk. Stop and make them explain everything in plain English what steps are going to be used to get your results.
